ESALA PROJECTS OFFICE 20-22 Chambers St, Edinburgh EH1 1JZ

BOOK—SPACE is a temporal reading room and evolving gathering point for those who read, make and think with books. Located in the ESALA Projects space, adjacent to the architecture school, it invites collective engagement with books not just as vessels of knowledge, but as spatial, performative and sensorial experiences.

Curated by Paula Szturc, an Architecture by Design PhD student at the University of Edinburgh, the project emerges from her research with the National Galleries of Scotland. Focusing on Artists’ Books, her work explores the book as a critical object—investigating its material form, spatial presence and the architectures of reading it proposes.

BOOK—SPACE is a living archive. It gathers and gives shape to:

→ Events and Performances

→ A Collective Reading List

→ Thematic Threads and Conversations

→ Participant Contributions

→ Speculations for What Comes Next

A space for slow attention, shared thinking and experimental collective readings.
